For those of you who have been following this season of Doctor Who, you might be on the edge of your seats awaiting his fate.
Tomorrow Tonight (2011/10/01) is the season finale, an episode titled “The Wedding of River Song,” and for me at least, the creepy, sing-songy “tick tock goes the clock” from last weekend’s preview has been running through my head all week.
It was announced just recently that Season 7 won’t be starting until autumn of 2012 (though there will be the usual Christmas special), so get your Who fix in while you can.
Though this season has been criticized by some for having an overly complicated mythology, definitely departing in style from Davies’ tendency towards monster-of-the-weeks, the series still seems to be as strong as ever, with viewers having embraced the eleventh Doctor in the form of Matt Smith since his debut last season. And if you’re not yet a fan? Well, there’s still hope.
What’s next for the Doctor? Well, there is always the potential for crossovers. After all, Moffat has another popular project going on now, and who knows what goes on in his head.
The finale episode airs tonight both on the BBC and in the U.S. on BBC America.
