If Hoban “Wash” Washburne isn’t a sexy geek, I invite you all to tell me who is. Serenity’s pilot and the voice of Sonny in I, Robot is 40 years old today and looking good.
Most of us know Tudyk from Firefly, in which he starred with another favorite geek, playing the wise-cracking pilot, Wash. The clip below is one of my favorite Wash scenes, featuring one of his funniest lines: “Curse your sudden-but-inevitable betrayal!”
Tudyk was born in El Paso, Texas, grew up in Plano, and attended the Juilliard conservatory. He was voted Most Likely to Succeed at Lon Morris Jr College.

Tudky is hilarious in real life, often landing comedic roles, like Gerhardt in 28 Days and Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.
This recut trailer focuses on Tudyk’s role, almost lending the ridiculous film an air of credible sensitivity. (Almost.)
(Also, mildly NSFW language at 1:24, unless your boss is a fan of homophobic slurs.)
He also gets some love from the webcomic set in the strip below, originally featured on hijinksensue.com.

Happy birthday, Alan Wray Tudyk, from all of your fans here at [GAS].

What’s your favorite Tudyk role? Let us know in the comments! In closing, I give you the Look at My Package Dance. (embedding was disabled on the video, so you guys will have to click on the link to see it.)
FIREFLY FTW!!!!
Is it just me, or do his characters have a tendency to die?
Alpha on Dollhouse! He was wonderfully zaney and evil! And then lovable at the end.
Firefly is my favorite, but closely followed by his role in Death at a Funeral.
Yeah, you can't mention his amazing roles when he takes the entire show of Death at a Funeral (the original British comedy). As much as I loved him in 28 Days and Firefly, he makes those seem like he was phoning them in when compared to Death at a Funeral. Just sayin'.

Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I've been in a fire. Actually I was fired…from a fry cook opportunity.

His guest appearance on Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show.
Totally Firefly. But he was also sexy in Dollhouse. <3
I still consider his first scene as one of the best introductions to a character. That said, I consider Adam Baldwin's character (Jayne Cobb) one of the best secondary characters ever portrayed on the small screen.
I would have to say Firefly and A Knight's Tale and Death at a Funeral. He just makes me feel happy inside :D
yes, we ALL loved him in Firefy but hes done a ton of awesome roles. A couple of my favorites are : Steve the Pirate in Dodgeball! yarrrrr He was also fantastic in 28 Days as Gerhardt. "Oh my God! Look at my package!"
He's really an awesome actor. He totally freaked me out in the first few episodes of the new 'V' series!!
Wash (obviously) is my favorite role, followed very closely by Wat.
Not as geeky as other roles, but who can't love him as Wat in A Knights Tale? By far one of my all time fav movies, and he makes it hilarious!
And he voiced Mickey in Halo ODST. <3 this guy!
A Knight's Tale for sure…
i love you allan tudyk!!
