Brain: Searching for the first PC virus [Video]

FSecure has just released a really interesting 10-minute video documenting their trip to Lahore, Pakistan, to find the authors of the first PC virus “Brain”. This is the first time that the authors of “Brain”, Amjad Farooq Alvi and Basit Farooq Alvi, have given a video interview about the virus, which spread around the world via floppy disks around 1986.

  1. Except that it didn't. The first virus was created by an american programming prof to illustrate how programs can do things we don't always want them to. It used a .com file to change file extensions to gibberish. Americans: they love blamming shit on foreigners.

    • You do know that F-secure is from Finland, thus your post should be

Finns: they love blaming shit on foreigners.

Doesn't help your america bashing much, though.

  2. This is just a great video! It is really great to see the humble beginnings of something great. Thanks for the video. I remembered the times when we are still struggling with the DOS back then. lol
