Rule #0: Do not choose to follow the people you do not find interesting in the first, don’t tell them to tailor their tweets to your liking. Douche.

Erm… that should have been “in the first place”.

I would personally like to add the weather to this list. I’ve seen more tweets that say “man, it’s hot” or “it’s snowing” than I have anything else.

Oh, and people shouldn’t talk about their kids ANYWHERE as much as they do.

Articles like this remind me of someone who would rather piss and moan incessently when a song the don’t like came on the radio instead of using one of the perfectly functioning OFF or CHANGE CHANNEL buttons. Professional whiner, to the point of even making little graphics to go along with the moaning.

I disagree. I love tweets about cats, kids and adore the ones on dogs

I agree with Clark. I usually love The Oatmeal, but he’s being a complete douche here. People can use twitter to say whatever they want. If someone doesn’t interest you or annoys you, don’t follow them.

Totally agree with #4. Meta-Tweeting may be even worse than meta-blogging!

Haha. My friend founded DailyBooth. It took off in quite a big way in it’s target audience – teens bored of MySpace who didn’t find Facebook enough. Ashton Kutcher even joined it under aplusk!

Meh, I agree with the annoyance factor of each of the tweet types, but it’s primarily my friends that do it rather than random celeb types so its forgivable. If a non-inner circle “followed” person starts that crap up, yep, instant unfollow :) Item #2…funny.

Searching for other people at conferences and events you are at is the only thing I’ve ever found twitter useful for. I disagree with #3.
