Join! Do your duty! See new worlds! Serve the empire! Don’t you just love imperial propaganda, especially when it looks like this? These fictional Star Wars recruitment posters come from the fertile mind of Feng Zhu, an illustrator who has worked on the designs of Star Wars Episode III, Revenge of the Sith, for Lucasfilm.

  1. the bare rears are a bit over the top otherwise good but dull for me. Seen it all before. Where are the ones for the women?? Women need brains and brawn. Even just brains do it for me so long as your strong enough to fetch for yrself. Face it Geeks are mostly sexy to other geeks.

    • It's cheesecake. The concept is inserting a familiar real-world tradition into a popular fictional universe, not "here are some smart women."

If there's any debate to be had here, it isn't whether the women are intelligent looking enough, but whether the convergence of real-world and fictional has done justice to both, and on the quality of the artwork.

  3. there are no black women. or any women of color for that matter. *sigh* i guess we don’t exists as beautiful/ picture worthy women?

    • Don’t see any nagging complaining self centered ones in the list either…looks like you’re screwed twice.

    • I notice there are no white girls either. Help, help, we’re being oppressed! Can’t you see we’re being oppressed here?

    • yet if they were all black, someone would complain about the “racial stereotyping” of it, because obviously the evil empire would only like people of evil skin color (…which is black for some reason???)
Maybe the artist *isn’t* attracted to many dark skinned people (in which case, who cares, as it’s just personal preference.) , but more likely, he was just sticking to the fact that, ya know, every frickin storm trooper was white, wore white armor, ect ect…

      so…stop whining

      • every stormtrooper was a cloned dude, did the Empire even show chicks in the movie? If an artist wants to draw pinups of chicks in stormtrooper-themed costumes, that's fine. Don't play off what they DIDN'T include as being in line with the inspiration.

        • No. Not every Stormtrooper was cloned. That program was dropped shortly after the Clone Wars was over. By the time of the original trilogy, almost all of the stormtroopers were enlisted.

    • There also aren't any alien species. It's possible that racism isn't really a major concern to the propaganda departments of totalitarian military dictatorships in fictitious futuristic universes.

  5. Cool idea, for sure, but could be done better. They’re somewhat plain. Maybe they need better backgrounds or more detailed faces for girls or something.

  7. But…
…clones don’t need to be recruited. You just grow ‘em in jars, and they do what they’re told.
    Regardless, I love it.

    • the only stop troopers that are clones is the 501st the rest are recruits. the majority of the clone army was disbanded, vader didnt trust them

  9. You girls/guys are complaining that racial diversity is not depicted on recruitment posters for a group of aliens who existed a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Who cares, the girls are hot, it’s a funny poster, don’t make it all about race for crying out loud. There are no Hispanic women there, and I could care less. That is the problem nowadays, everything has to be RACIALLY APPROPRIATE. Enjoy things for what they are!!

    • Exactly. Besides, this is just one artist's vision. I am sure if you look you can find more racially diverse fan art. I am pretty sure the old recruitment and pin-up posters these are in reference to weren't racially diverse, considering the time period they came from.

  11. The fact that the women automatically go for the ‘we’re so oppressed’ standpoint is ridiculous. I am a female, white, and find these to be very cute. So what that there are no men? It’s just a specific set.

    • So, a set of 8, of which 0 feature no scantily-clad men. Not sexist at all, oh no.

And if it were "real", how about a recruiting drive that basically says, "Become a soldier, because then you get to see hot women who might fuck you." Obviously there are no female soldiers in this universe who would worry about being seen as a prospective soldier's love bot rather than being respected for their professional skills.

    • actually, that was the republic army. Palpatine banned cloning when he came to power, so stormtrooper units were made up of volenteers

  18. Bigotry makes sense here: Palpatine was xenophobic and sexist himself, so the fact that it only portrays human women simply makes it more authentic.

  20. 1) There is only one race of people on Earth. They are called “Human”. Duh.
    2) On Earth, skin color is no indication of some one’s ETHNIC (or National) background. Duh.
    3) There is no indication of the models’ home planets. Duh.
    4) Are these models even “women”? Duh.

“Silly Humans. Always thinking they are the only ones to exist in their known universe.”

  22. Puh-lease!
Can girls please stop with the whiny b*tchin!
If you truly are geek, male or female, you can appreciate the art for itself.
It’s as if I’d say “oh I’m a green one-legged female alien and there is no other like me portrayed” wtf right !?!
Girls, geekdom is male-predominated , you will often see sexy women drawn in fan art. Get used to is. Get over yourselves. Or find another passion.
It’s because of whiners like you that females are not as accepted as geeks. Just appreciate the pics for what they are: harmless, nicely drawn fan art.

  24. Reading the comments was hilarious. Looking at girls is fine and dandy with me, but I actually wouldn’t mind seeing some skanky dudes, either. I had never really thought of scantily-clad storm trooper guys before, now I’m interested >,<! Thanks a lot!

  26. I’m a girl. My only problem with this is that the faces have absolutely no expression, in stark contrast to real-world pin-ups that are usually very expressive. The art is good and the concept is good, but the emotionless faces ruin it for me.

  30. wow, that’s crappy fan art. Tho maybe they’re just sketches, dude can’t seem to draw a face too well.

  32. And where are the dark skin ladies? I really hate it that when someone does a geek pin up or any pin up for that matter, you never see black, brown, or other ethnicities. We are beautiful too!

  33. Classic "Pin up" art done in the fashion of early 20th century bomber nose art.

    Mr Feng Zhu well done.

  34. Y'know that only the first stormtroopers were clone remnants of the republic-era, and the rest are all normal humans, right?

  35. Ugh, to the people bitching about the 'THERE ARE NO WOMEN OF COLOR' thing, please keep in mind how many 'people of color' there were in the movies and how many there are in the universe. It's not racism, it's just how the artist did the pictures. Quit reading so damn much into the pictures and ENJOY them! What did you come to see, a whole crapload of Twi'elks?

  36. if you people weren't so busy whining about the racism hidden in this post you would see that the person just used the same face and changed the hair pretty much. get off the computer and quit being fucking whiners

  37. I don't know if anyone pointed this out, but the facial anatomy leaves something to be desired compared to the detail given to everything else. Cute concept. Horrible, horrible font choices.
