    Consider it melted

  • London

It’d be relatively simple to do that in Photoshop or Gimp, but if they actually pulled that off without the assistance of editing consider my jaw to be on the floor.

  • http://www.pikarya.blogspot.com Florsie

Yeah, it smells a lot like Photoshop.

  • http://www.pimschaaf.nl Pim

Love his shirt – Trogdooooor! Burninated my mind :D

  • http://www.purplepawn.com David

Sure we know how it’s done. But way cool anyway!

  • Levi

obviously shopped-not only is the photo too perfectly flat-but how would they get the picture that is shown-it’s the chicken and the egg,..still a neat idea-took me a sec.

  • http://andreasaronsson.com BOLL

Awesome, I love it, I want to recreate it! Too bad then it would feel super old already! Hmm… perhaps with some kind of tweak… yes! Whenever I get the time xD Gah, so inspired! Too bad I have a day job.

  • Sachi

It’s possible to do it without photoshop too, it’d just take longer. Still cool.

  • Anon

How can you say it’s possible to do without photoshop? I don’t think anyone else realized that its the same guy in every pose. Tell me how to do it without the aid of a computer because having a set of quintuplets pose like that is a little far-fetched don’t you think?

  • anon

Thank you for noticing this. Everybody else is fucking retarded.

  • anon

Thank you for noticing that he noticed that he had noticed thisthis. Everybody else is f* retarded.

  • brady

if this is photoshop it is NOT simple. this is the kind of comment that is made by people that dont know no how to use it. although this is done most likely in photoshop the person has some pretty advanced skills this would take me days to recreate the precise selections that this incorporates

  • Terry Ó C

I’mmmmmmmm pretty sure my mind is very far from being blown.

    Nice try though.

  • Terry Ó C

    PS.
Having now read the comments I think someone should mention how very very easy this would be….

    Here goes,

“This would be very, very easy to do on photoshop”

Think otherwise ? OK! Well, what would make this so difficult ?

    ….

    ?

  • Philip

It’s not ‘shopped: if you look at the lower image, and look at the picture held by the person in the picture held by the person (so that’s the same image as the main image), look to the left of the person holding the picture: the person on the left in the black jacket seen in the main image is not in the smaller image!

The detail breaks down right about then, so it doesn’t require an infinite loop.

  • Anonymous

It’s quite simple in Photoshop. If the “Picture” he’s holding up is just white then all he has to do is drage one image to a selected area (the white “picture”) for each image.

  • Akira

ITS THE SAME GUY IN EVERY POSE RETARDS. Thats what makes it impossible, not the stupid picture he’s holding. =.=

  • http://www.eric-poehlsen.de Eric

It is a nice set set of photomanipulations. What I like about this very execution of the theme is the crossreferencing of two images. I have seen some executions of this topic using only one source image.

It takes some image manipulation skills to complete the task. Anyway it is not correct that it would be impossible to complete this scene without the use of major image manipulations – it would take considerable acting skills to get in the same pose for multiple shots.

  • Anon

that’s not necessarily correct, take a closer look at the implementation of the loop.

  • mark

Its not even that complicated. 2 guys with digital cameras, and a 3rd with a laptop and printer. Nobody has to move as it only takes a couple minutes. Swaps the prints between groups and a second set of images taken and posted.

  • Akira

How does it make any difference if its the same guy? He could still actually do it. Just not easily. First he gets in the pose for the bottom picture, He takes the picture and prints it. Then he holds that picture and goes into the first pose, takes a picture and prints it. Takes the new picture and gets into the second pose again (yes, getting the background people the same and lighting the same would be tough, not impossible though, taking that new picture he gets into the first pose and takes the photo. It would not be easy unless you did it very quickly, since the daylight would change. It is also very unlikely he actually did it that way, I am sure its photoshopped. It’d be a lot cooler if he did.

  • Anon

    @Akira stop being a retard

  • Splortched

It is easy to do with photoshop. The guy used a tripod, then took a bunch of pics of himself. Then he layer masked just himself into the pic which was easy because the pictures were all aligned due to the camera being on a tripod.

The cards were blank when he shot them.

Notice that either picture does not have exactly the same poses, but still has the same person?

After he has his images he used transform to get them onto the cards.

I’ve done this before, and it is easier than you’d think.

  • Junkus

Sorry, mind nowhere near melted. Overstater.

  • http://none Fred Rogers

If anyone could pull this picture off it would be asians.

  • Jurrul

This is REALLY HARD TO DO! THEY’RE ALL THE SAME GUY! Well, they all look like Jackie Chan to me anyway.

  • Sippy

It absolutely is possible to do without photoshop you just have to remember that pictures haven’t always been digital. it’d take much longer but would be even cooler had it been done that way not that it isn’t a great concept thanks alot for posting this.

  • Dan

    One word: Shadows.

  • adam

Two tripods would make this really easy, take all the poses with both cameras at the same time and then one more for each camera to block them in the final composite.

  • Andrew

Oh i thought the mind melting was the fact that they all had the same haircuts.

  • Jon

It all looks like the same person.

  • Ergodyne

@Anon You’re the retard for not realizing that every single person in both pictures is the same person. Not just the picture holder. Figure that one out without photoshop nub.

  • MrOz

The shadows are backwards in the second photo – they took those pictures at different times, but kept the same positions. Not complicated.

  • MrOz

Also, look at the guy in the leather jacket. One picture, the photo he’s holding is being held outward, the second one, inward.

    @Dan, right on.

  • Nixz’

    I got it!
They are twins… and they just hold some white paper…and they edited the picture adding the photos on the white papers

  • Jon

People who aren’t impressed with this are just dumb. As in, not smart enough to realize why this is such a cool and difficult photo to make. This same guys has a few different photos in this same style. He is the only person in the pictures and has to take multiple shots all in different locations.

I fucking hate the internet because it lets dumb people on. You should have to solve a hard puzzle to get on the web…

  • http://turtaf.deviantart.com turtaf

I’d like to think it’s not edited, but the second picture is backlight and the picture in the habd should be a lot darker or at least less contrasted…

I think it’s photoshopped, great concept thow!!

  • Pat

Thats exactly what happened, however they messed it up. Look at the top photo, the guys standing in the middle. now look at the photo hes holding, guys back left walking sort of like he is in the photo below…

  • Mclovin

Its not the same person, its just a few guys that look alike. Look at the top photo hes holding, it shows the guy walking in from behind him, kinda like the guy is doing on the bottom photo. This is very easy to do without photoshop, its just all you simple minded individuals cant handle the fact that its an easy thing. Everything today isnt photoshoped.

  • MArko

I still can’t believe that some people don’t notice that all of the people in the photos are the same guy in a different pose. It’s photoshop, but an excellent idea and realisation.

  • infoseekr

    Minus the photos being held.
its not difficult to photoshop multiple poses of same guy into one picture. Camera was probably on tripod. or rather cameras on tripods. from two angles taking 2 pics of same guy in multiple poses.. then simply photoshoped two different pictures together (pic A and Pic B) using the multiple poses.
this is still minus the photos being held. (guy was holding blank paper during session/posing) once pic A and Pic B were complete it was a simple task to photoshop pic A onto paper being held in Pic B and Visa Versa, I’ll call this the first loop and refer to this set of pictures as Pic A1 and Pic B1. Next he finalizes it by photoshoping Pic A1 onto an original Pic B1 and visa versa completing the second loop this is the final set of Pictures Il refer to as Pic A2 and Pic B2.
so what you see above is Pic A2 and Pic B2. nice work by the way theres some tricky issues with masking out the tripods but not to difficult, likely he took all pics with tripods then final pics of self in place of tripod 1 with tripod 2 and visa vera.

  • infoseekr

one correction above … I miss typed. Ill correct this sentence — “Next he finalizes it by photoshoping Pic A1 onto an original Pic B and visa versa completing the second loop this is the final set of Pictures Il refer to as Pic A2 and Pic B2.” —
correction is “ONTO AN ORIGINAL PIC B” not “PIC B1″

  • Koji

That’s actually not hard to do at all…People make tons of cash doing Photomanipulation. Putting several guys together from other pictures is not hard at all to do if you know what you’re doing.

It is done very well though. I’m not discounting the guy’s skill for making these pictures, but it could not have been done without a ‘shop.

  • LBW

Why does everyone care that a great idea and skills used to make something remarkable is photoshoped. This Guys got skillz. At least agree with that.

  • infoseekr

i do agree. its simply a puzzle, that we want to figure out. its well done and I said so in my comment

  • alex

this isn’t hard to do with or without photoshop basically you take both pictures, hand them off to one another and then take the pictures again, and there ya go

  • infoseekr

try to pay attention alex. every person you see is the same guy, and the pictures Loop into each other 3 times. read my longer comment above for details.

  • frank

In the bottom right of the lower picture the guy in the red shirt’s left leg looks REALLY long…

  • Andy

    GIMP can do it

  • http://tecverse.com Marco

True, but photoshop image manipulation would probably work out best in terms of accuracy, ease and getting this infinately repeating shot done quicker,

  • Ur a dickhead

Ummm .. ur a dickhead. Just look at the eyebrows … no match dipshit. How fuckin smart do you feel now?

All asians look the same eh … what a douche

  • Emmeran

This is really a cool pic. Of course its done like infoseeker says. 2 cams, 2 tripods, a lot of pictures with different poses and blank images (or maybe a blue screen for easier masking) and some image composition (gimp ftw!)
Also he had to do some work on the pictures to get the tripods out of the image and to correct the shadows.
For example does the guy holding the picutre in the background of the first image cast a shadow on the left leg on the guy who makes a photo of him.
This shadow has to be inserted manually afterwards.
Also on the shoe of the guy with the long leg.

Also the leg really looks very long, but that may just be some weird pose.

Furthermore he tried to divert us in the picture from noticing its only one person by using different cloths.
One time he wears a normal jacket, sometimes a leather jacket, an open leather jacket, a red sweater and a white t-shirt.

All in all a really nice idea and greatly done. Cool pic!

  • Your Mother

Who gives a FUCK how it was done. It’s just cool to look at. Holy shit.

  • Sam

    My Head Asplode

  • nick

Still easy… drop shrink rotate, just do it a few times over until the detail isn’t visible anymore. Wouldn’t take too long.

  • Addy

did you not notice that everyone in the picture is wearing the exact same thing? even the guy playing basketball. By the way, the eyebrows look the same

  • SparkyMcHooters

Look closely, EVERY person in those photos is the SAME GUY.

    Of Course it’s ‘shopped.

  • http://kanjimasteryugi.blogspot.com KempSamurai

Head blown, not simply from the first glance (idea), but from the execution of the idea.

  • PocketBunny

    LOL right?!

  • Wade

It’s true, you would only have to copy the images three times or so before they become so small as to make them unrecognizable. Certainly not difficult at all.

But the concept is super cool, so good on them for having such a rad idea.
