I am sentimental about the smell of paper, ink and binding glue. I love the feel of the paper dust under my finger or thumb as it is chaffing off the pages of cheap paper backs. Reading is ritualistic for some of us I guess. Clearly the author is a writer through and through. All of these things can be literally back breaking if you have to carry them around on a regular basis, having them in electronic format allows for a much lighter weight solution. Issue my kids an eReader when they enter school and eTextBooks instead of dead tree and watch the number of people with back problems at young ages plummet.
