Here's a little backdrop in case the Microsoft blog readers and commenters — yes, they actually have a group that read and try to spin negative blogs — try to apply their marketing magic. Every time I turn on the TV to watch the news 'any channel' there is an APPLE in front of them. Professionals in the movie and music industry use APPLE. The whole world knows microsoft sucks and its products is cheap wal-mart toys. All the younger people use apple products they know microsoft sucks. Now you microsuck employees go drink your 7 koolaid!

You used Linux? good for you! Did you have a clue what you were doing?

I have Vista (factory), 7 and Ubuntu installed on my laptop, Vista is going when I upgrade from the RC to full 7. Even still they all run great, just 7 runs a bit better than Vista and I have my special uses for Ubuntu as well.

I just don't get how anyone can justify paying a $500 (ish) markup for an apple logo and a different OS. The hardware is the same, the build quality is meh. And in my opinion the only legitimate mac users run Hackintosh's, everyone else is just wasting their time and money.

I just don’t get how anyone can justify paying a $500 (ish) markup for an apple logo and a different OS. The hardware is the same, the build quality is meh. And in my opinion the only legitimate mac users run Hackintosh’s, everyone else is just wasting their time and money.

$500? Where is a mac for $500 that actually comes with everything you need to run it? The Mac Mini is $599 and doesnt even come with cables, keyboard or a display.

Then lets talk about the amount of cash you're going to fork over for all those proprietary cables you're going to have to buy. Then you have the Apple Care on top of that. And if the display on your iMac goes bad? Yep, rather than using that spare monitor you had in the attic for such emergencies, you lose the ability to use your computer while the Geniuses at the Apple Store fix your computer. Thats the funny thing about all-in-one computers…they turn into all-or-nothing really quick.

You wanna talk about bricks? How about the people who had problems after installing Snow Leopard?

I'm someone who owned a 17" Aluminum PowerMac. My love for Apple ended when they displayed their hypocrisy and came out with the new Intel laptops making my computer obsolete within EIGHT MONTHS!

Thats when I remembered why I always built my own computers…and I also realized why Apple only has 5% share in the computer market.
