I've answered my own question: The $139.29 price is if you buy it from Electronics Expo via Amazon.com. The links in this article take you to the generic page for the product, which lists Amazon's higher price, not Electronics Expo's lower price.

To get the lower price, click the links in the article then click the tiny "50 new" link just to the right of the product photo.

So… when I go to Amazon, why does it say $142.06?

It's one of those items that you have to add to your cart to see the price, and I always eye that with suspicion. It sounds like a cheesy car salesman saying, "Yeah, normally it's two hundred fifty bucks, but I like you. I can gives it to you fer, eh, $142.06."
