Megan Fox, who catapulted herself into geek goddess status after she appeared in Transformers (and said she loved Comic Con, might consider wearing a Leia slave bikini, and appeared in photographs wearing a Star Wars shirt), is the star of an upcoming cheerleader-demon-starts-eating-all-the-boys dark comedy horror film. Jennifer’s Body was written by stripper-turned-screenwriter Diablo Cody, who herself became a celebrity seemingly overnight after penning Juno.
Of course, one of the problems with movies like this one that straddle genres is that trailers often tend to just pick one and run with it. And apparently the one that will run with Bruno this weekend is a little too much horror and not enough comedy for the tastes of the writer/director/producer, who sent a filmmaker’s cut trailer to ShockTillYouDrop.com.
This version definitely seems more like what accounts of the movie bill it to be – a “nostalgia for when horror films were fun.” Because come on, it might be creepy, but there’s also something really funny about a cheerleader chowing down on a bunch of farm-fed high school boys. And this trailer makes it clear that Cody’s voice is present in the film – lines like “No, she’s really evil, not high school evil” and “They’re agents of Satan with really awesome haircuts” smack of Juno-with-demons.
In any case, whether possessed cheerleaders are your thing or not, you can bet that a lot of geeks will be running this September to Jennifer’s Body… if only because it promises to show a lot of Megan Fox’s body (NSFW).
