honestly, if you don’t want pictures of you or your family to be used publicly, don’t put them on the internet… that’s what photo albums are for. You’re lucky you had this “problem” with a decent human being, if you had encountered someone who wanted to be a pain, they could have very easily denied your request since the original photo (according to the posts above) were under creative commons license. I’m just saying that you should either monitor your privacy setting more on your social networking sites, or just not put your “precious family photos” on the WORLD WIDE WEB. you could have ended up like this family http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090611/ap_on_fe_st/us_odd_card_photo_prague

I’ve changed my licensing settings as it must have been set up that way unintentionally on the uploader I was using. I guess I also assumed that it was common courtesy to contact the person whose pictures you are using for your own purposes as I have been asked many times for use of that particular photograph. Thank you for educating me in this… I will be more stringent in making sure I ask for you (anyone) to ask me first and to give credit.

Hi, Jen. We’re happy to remove the picture, of course. However, be aware that you have release it under a Creative Commons license, available here: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/deed.en

This license says that it is free for others to “to copy, distribute and transmit” as long as it is properly attributed. I see that you’ve put up the watermark and notice now, but that was not there yesterday. You may want to also place this single photograph under “all rights reserved” so that you don’t run into this problem. (If you prefer to give permission individually, then you can still do that. If you don’t release it under CC, you can put a note on it saying that if someone wants to use the photograph, to contact you for permission.)

As for the pics, I cant believe that people would let their child touch an Apple. Why pollute them with all that so young?
