Facebook: Now with Lens Flares!

May 9, 2009 by Geeks are Sexy | 10 comments

Just a short post this morning to let you know about a little trick my pal Shea passed me over my Facebook feed this morning.

  1. Log in to Facebook
  2. Do this on your keyboard: UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A *ENTER* (Yeah, that’s the Konami Code)
  3. Now just scroll up and down, or type something in any text field on the page.

Enjoy!

If you’re using Firefox with QuickFind enabled (like me), this won’t work.

When you type “B A”, Ffx immediately starts to search for the letters “B A” on the page and highlights them.

To get it to work, go to Preferences (or Options) -> Advanced -> General, and uncheck “Search for text when I start typing”.

Thanks for sharing. Love this blog!

So how do you get rid of this annoying feature after you have enabled it?

To turn it off, just shut off your browser and start it again :)

You don’t have to close your browser. Just log off from FB. When you log on again it will be gone.

I tried to do this and someone asked, “Is that the Bunny Hop or the Hokey Pokey?”

And then my keyboard fell apart.
