The Pizza Box of the 21st Century

April 29, 2009 by Geeks are Sexy | 8 comments

I don’t know about you guys, but when I order pizza, it’s usually because my wife and I are feeling lazy. Oh we do make it ourselves from time to time, but washing the dishes after is kind of a drag and goes against the concept of eating pizza in front of the TV. That’s why this pizza box concept is so brilliant. Not only does it provide you with the plates and a storage box to put your leftovers away, but the whole thing is made out of recycled material. Isn’t that awesome?

It’s just a clever implementation of a traditional pizza box. Someone should have thought about this a long time ago :)

As a student, I use a pizza box like this all the time, so whats so good about this design? Just need to do a bit of ripping is all.

I have been doing this for years, minus the precut lines.

And should Domino’s, Pizza Hut, or Papa John’s copy this idea, just think of the lawsuit, and wasted papers in court.

Domino’s has been perforating the box lid fold for years (at least in Australia they have) so you can easily tear the top off as one plate and use the bottom as another. And even before that we were ripping it like that ourselves (we tend to share a large between 2 people a lot).

As for converting to a storage box, Hell Pizza has been doing it for ages:

These are very much not new ideas in the pizza world.

Ok, maybe it’s not so much revolutionary as it is evolutionary, but I still think it’s kinda innovative spin on the plan pizza box and it falls under the “why wouldn’t ya” category?
