The common underlying condition of those with uncurable cancers who experienced "spontaneous remissions" (and were thereby completely cured) was an infection/fever  unrelated to their cancer diagnosis. A fever, a few days of flu-like symptoms, and then, health. Our immune systems are incredibly intelligent. If we can just crack that nut, we'll be golden. Nicely written.
