We’ve been told that there’s no wrong way to eat a Reeses, but what about a peep? In the tradition of some of the terrible, terrible things you can put into your body that this blog has shown you, I thought I would bring you one more. Serious Eats has convinced me that peeps are probably one more food that should not be deep fried:

If you think that looks yummy, you can follow the step-by-step recipe. But in the meantime, I’ve scoured up some other ways that people eat their peeps… After all, with peeps and other Easter candies half off on Monday, the frugal chef could make a few peeps go a long way.

And if none of those suit you, here are some more suggestions for cooking with peeps. Happy Peep Day!

An earl gray peep sounds utterly delicious.

  2. Colin says:

Correction, there are a variety of wrong ways to eat peeps.

  3. Great job. Skinless, however, just plain wrong.

  4. Chanda says:

I made sweet potatoes with melted peeps on top. Delicious! Ugly, but delicious.

  5. Lucy says:

But what is a peep? Is it marshmallow?

    • Kathleen says:

Yes it is a disgusting but somehow still delicious marshmallow. I can’t explain it, but I love them.

  6. Rusty says:

The roommate LOVES these things (especially STALE ones, but I avoid them since I’m diabetic. I never had much taste for them anyway so it was easy to “give them up.”

Let me jut fix that for you:

My roommate loves these things, especially stale ones, but I avoid them since I’m diabetic. I never had much taste for them anyway so it was easy to “give them up”.

  7. Chris L. says:

Peeps are a marshmallow bird covered with colored sugar crystals. And they are best frozen!

  8. Bridget says:

    Peep S’Mores sound good.

I’m not a big Peep fan…maybe I’ll try ‘em frozen, that sounds interesting.

  9. I totally love Peeps!! The Peepjito was my favorite name, but that cake looks so adorable (and tasty).

  10. Rod says:

Some of those look really disgusting.

  11. Kuroneko says:

The tea, s’mores, and cake sound OK, since marshmallows could easily be used for any of these. The others, not so much.

  12. ♥k@yl@♥ says:

The s’mores sound good and you could put them in hot chocolate!

I think nibbling on the neck first then working your way up to the beak..then just one fail swoop, taking the head off first…hehehehe!

  14. Sharon says:

The best way to eat peeps is a little stale. Open the package and let it set a few days or a week. That makes them a little chewy. mmmmmm good.

  15. I don’t know why, but some of these pics looks like torture methods. Shaping a marshmallow into a little bird makes setting it on fire or frying it look… wrong.

    Also, peeps are gross.

  16. connie says:

I’ve seen a ton of very goofy and demented things done with/to peeps, but the sunflower peep cake is probably the first ever pretty peep creation that I’ve seen. Using the original peep as well, for bonus points!

  17. Amy says:

I’ve made the smores for my 5 kids. We’ve also put them in our hot cocoa! The kids think I’m the greatest ever!!!

  18. Graham says:

    fantastic, well done
