Dude, I can easily tell if it’s morning/noon/night – I look out of the window.

People use a clock to tell the time. That is the sole purpose of a clock. Unless it is combined with a lamp/whatever. But the sole purpose of the clockface element is to show the time. So if it’s not easy to tell the time, it is a completely useless clock.

If you use it for a general sense of “Where am I roughly in the day?”, you are spending too long doing one thing in a windowless room (because if you left said room every couple of hours or so and looked out of a window, you could see the rough time of day without spending money on a clock for the same purpose).

Telling the time = clock.
Telling the rough time of day = sunlight.

I’d go for A, C or E. Although all of them are marvelous. There are persons who do not have to always know exact time up to minute or second, rather a clock that gives a notion of whether it is moring, afternoon or night. Therefore I disagree that a clock must always be easy to read.

A, D, and G are the best ones. I would definitely buy A & G though. If you can tell me how to tell the time on A, I would love it as a lamp as well. G is both simple and complex, which makes it very unique.

Hmmm,

I think A looks the best as a lamp…it looks very, very nice… but as a clock.. Hmmm, not sure.

-B is AWESOME. WANT!

-C No way. Ugly as hell.

-D Nice. Looks like a UFO. MP3 player should be docked on the side or on top, in case you want to hook up the clock to your wall.

E and F : No thanks.

G and I : Nice. G is very original. Love the fact that they both act as iPOD docks.

I HATE clocks that have a complicated way of telling the time.

Yes, I might get used to it in a few weeks, or even days, but that’s not the point of clocks.

With clocks you should look at it and know the time straight away. That’s their point. To waste time itself (any time, even 30 seconds before you get used to it soon in a few days) with a clock is destroying the point of a clock.

The only one I like is B, and I’d probably buy it. The others all look pretty impractical as far as clocks go. They may be nice as lights but if I want to know the time is I don’t want to have spend time trying to figure out what it says. My b/f would probably like D because it looks like a spaceship!

A – For a clock its a nice looking lamp. I would not buy it because do not to have to want for a animation to run before i can see the time.

B- beautiful. Would definitely buy it.

C – Ugly. Why is the power cord on the side and not behind ? Would not buy.

D- Nice looking. Ipod should connect to top or side though. Would buy it.

E- Again, nice lamp. Display is difficult to read. Why can´t I have light and clock at the same time ? Would not buy.

F- Strange in a nice way. Would buy it it it were in green.

G – Nice looking. Should have a dim mode to be placed bedside. Would buy.

B, D, and G all look great… and while I’d love to have D hooked to the wall in my bedroom, I doubt my wife would agree. I’d probably have to go with B since it looks like a traditional lamp.. with a twist.
