My whole house is powered by solar panels that charges batteries. LED last almost forever and consume little power. I think that was the size of the light bulb for my Lavalamp. Seriously. And this would make a poor replacement for it. The 60 watt CFL bug lights I've got right now aren't bright enough. I'm using mostly CFLs right now, but there are too many situations where they just aren't bright enough. And I've got one lamp that will only use an incandescent due to needing a 200 watt size bulb just to work. But that's on a rheostat, so it's not that bright 99% of the time. 40 watts.
