1 There is no shame in doing something you like to do but there is shame in not being yourself in fear of the stigma and social marginalisation.

2 Some people don't want family. Furthermore this is purely an attack based on stereotype.

3 There are such things as hobbies and not everything has to be done to further some "bettering". Furthermore learning another language, even a fictional one, does wonders for ones brain and its capacities/abilities.

4 Countering this one is quite impossible as it is purely an attack based on stereotyping and ideas pulled from nothing. Totally irrelevant to learning the Klingon Language.

5 Having a sense of humour and learning a fictional language are not mutually exclusive nor does having a sense of humour take time so it can't be a "more important thing to do". This person may also indeed have a sense of humour, one that does not find this funny. Taking it that you mean it to say that having a sense of humour is more important than being pedantic about a fictional language. I would agree in this circumstance. However that isn't what you said.

1> Having an actual life one need not look back upon with shame or pity.

2> Making efforts to start an eventual family, like dating etc.

3> Making efforts to improve one's self with learning and talent improvement.

4> Having a career so they don't have to live in their parent's basement for the rest of their useless lives memorizing starship schematics and James T. Kirk genealogy.
