Oh, and for those of you who are from Quebec, Canada, you probably have already seen Jon Jonathan in L’Auberge du Chien Noir, a fairly popular french Canadian tv show. Does that ring a bell to anyone here?

You know… I am ok with music, interpretation of what is music, freedom of speech and artistic style. But really. Is this really an art form? More like gutter trash to me. If this is the best that can be found to represent any musical form whether rap or rock or country or jazz or whatever, then I feel really sad for the future of music.
I think GAS can do way better than this. If it is shock value you are going for then you certainly have done that. If it is presentation of something interesting then you have failed miserably.

It’s humor, and a bit geeky… the guy has 10’s of millions of views on youtube.. and he lives about 20 minutes away from me.

Didn’t notice the new one. Still the same as ENG 1 and 2, but funny nontheless :) I love this guy (didn’t know he was French Canadian tho, i’ll go and check L’auberge ^^)
Eric, the thing is it’s not music, and it never intended to be. Jon is a comedian, and the Everyday Normal Guy one of his personas. This is just his way to make fun of the classic gangsta rap characters, and I think it is quite good :)
I don’t think Jon would pretend to do art. He’s just trying to make people laugh and uses the Tube to do that. And it’s fine by me ! We need as much original content on the Tube, and I won’t ever blame anyone for helping, even if it’s not perfect.
I’m pretty confident that if [GAS] wanted to get into music, Kiltak and the crew would find us some great things. There’s a lot of artists out there that deserve to be known :)
