Dont worry about not having painted miniature figures for your D&D games. When Dave Arneson and his friends first showed Gary how to play RPGs, the miniatures were not important either. We did what you are doing; marked our positions with coins, set out saltshakers, napkin holders and bottles of catsup to mark the doors, walls and the location of the dragon, and so on. The key was Dave’s storytelling, not a lot of painted lead (or even my strange dice). Keep on having fun with my friends’ invention, Gary and David will be happy to see that the fun continues.

Wow I remember this old game from my youth. All I got now are a few TSR modules and dice, post its, dry erase magnetic board, flash cards, etc, etc. That’s about as much I can remember, (oh yea pizza and beer) I’ve played this game back in the old days when it first came out.

Sorry, us “readers” get confused sometimes. I find it interesting though, that your seemingly important life is so busy that you had to put off homework and yet you still have time to insult a vast community of people without having any knowledge of who they are, what they do or how they might like to spend their free time. So I commend you, my little self conscious friend, for taking time out of your highly important life to write such valuable and insightful words that really cause all us “retarded, homework-doing, book-reading” people to truly reflect on and legitimately consider your thoughtful opinion.

Umm…pardon me, but I WAS in fact Once a 16 year old girl that played RPG’s til the wee small hours of the morning, and I was considered VERY normal…as well as attractive, so, guys, don’t give up…we ARE out there!! Sometimes you assume too much. ;P

I want that t-shirt SO BADLY.

When I play D&D with my big brother and his friends (because normal 16 year old girls don’t play D&D) we don’t use miniatures. When we do battle scenes we use spare dice, cellphones, pop cans and oreos. Our dungeons are drawn on the tops of pizza-boxes.

We’re too poor to afford quality items, but it’s more fun this way.
