Dizzle.. Well, It seems that the server was moved a few minutes ago.. I’m not sure how long the change will take to propagate to all DNS servers around the web… but things seems to be faster here :)

And for the record, yes, I fully expect that I will be dog-piled. That is fine. But I did two legitimate things.

1. I asked why the concept was ludicrous.

2. I gave examples of why I found it offensive.

This site is very slow to load for me, always has been. I don’t know whether it is the ads or what, but I am not going to respond further to simple expressions of “take it easy chickadee” if they don’t interact with the substance. I get too frustrated waiting for the page to load.

Yes, this Christian needs to learn patience. It is not one of my strong points.

If you don’t see a reason, then perhaps interact with the detailed reasons I gave. I mean I didn’t just go “I’m offended” and flounce off. I gave specific examples of why.

The fact is that this wasn’t entirely a joke but based on the real premise that it is ludicrous to have some rules for Christian bloggers. Why?

I didn’t see your earlier post, we were posting at the same time, yet you assumed I saw it.

It was not my intention to offend, merely to show how ludicrous it is to have commandments for religious bloggers.

Why is it ludicrous? Christians are supposed to emulate Christ in what they do, and we often fail miserably. It is good to be reminded that we are supposed to be ambassadors of Christ with the ministry of reconciliation, and to love our brothers.

I showed this post to a friend in the US who is the most religious man I know – he quotes scripture in every second sentence, goes to church each Sunday, tells me I am going to Hell…

Another subject altogether, but such things do not make someone a “religious” person. The devil quotes Scripture.

I showed him this post and he laughed his guts out. So if he can laugh at it, I don’t think it’s offensive to everyone.

I don’t think my post can be reasonably interpreted as literally every Christian, but I think it is reasonably seen as disrespectful to many Christians. I have explained why. Perhaps the whole purpose of this conversation may be to have you see things from another perspective. I totally accept you didn’t mean to be offensive. I am trying to get you to see how perhaps you were. Is there any chance I am going to convince you?

Well Mark how is that obvious? Because I gave a defense for why I thought it offensive? You don’t know me at all. I am always willing to be persuaded that I am wrong. I am once again offended by you:

1. You assume that if you put forth a cogent case on why you really didn’t think it offensive, that you wouldn’t convince me

2. That speaking to me is unworthwhile

I certainly can accept your word that you didn’t mean it to be offensive. I wouldn’t presume to call you a liar. But I would like you to explain how in the world you could think it not offensive by interacting with what I said rather than brushing me off like garbage.

If you didn’t think your post would be somewhat controversial, I suggest that you need to learn some judgment. I know when I put up controversial posts, and that I should be ready to deal with them.
