have been in september at IBC2008 here in Amsterdam, the last two days as usual in the 3d cinema there were presented some stuff in a totally new 3d system.
we had a live streaming in HD in 3d from los angeles.. the firt worldwide 3d hd streming…
and apart from viewing Journey in the center of the world 3d (the new movie with brendan fraser..) among the other videos and trailer for upcoming film in 3d…
we saw the first 3/4 minutes of star wars episode 4 version in 3d hd….. its was absolutely great! hope they proceed with the project.. want to see them all in 3d!!!! :D

Oh, and as a final thought…if Lucas is “milking it”, then us milk-drinkers are very grateful. Fans don’t HAVE to buy all this stuff…we choose to, because we love it. George, if you’re reading this, please don’t stop “milking” Star Wars. Those of us who are true fans love every drop.

Sorry Binary Assassin and Mark O’Neill, but you are in a very small minority (just look at the box office totals as proof). I grew up with the original trilogy, have been a huge fan all my life, and I thoroughly enjoyed the new movies. The secret is to not look at them with jaded, adult eyes, but revel in the adventure and fun like you did with the originals. It isn’t that the original trilogy is REALLY such classic cinema…it’s escapist fare that Lucas created for kids…and the kid in all of us. To say they were these incredible works of art really doesn’t do justice to the reason Lucas made them….and it also shows that you remember them through the eyes of a child, to whom they WERE works of art. Now you’re watching the new ones through the eyes of an adult and wanting them to measure up to that idealistic vision you have of the originals.

Fuck 3d, how about some high definition? I know its available, as cable tv have been playing all the star wars at 1080i, the only way you can get them in HD for home viewing is to pirate these hd tv rips, which are pretty good quality by the way. Still a blu-ray box set would be nice.

I disagree entirely – While true, Star Wars I was, ahem, hopeless? Star Wars 3 tied together everything for me in a very satisfied fashion.

Well if you’re going to get flamed, let’s get flamed together. I totally agree with you. The original three movies are totally fantastic but the three prequels are total crap. George Lucas is totally milking Star Wars and sucking them dry and I wish he would recognise the Star Wars trilogy as the classics they are and leave them alone and move on to something else.

I know I am going to get flamed for this, but I am really sick of star wars. I think episode 1, 2, and 3 are complete and total rubbish. Star wars has become a milking cow for Lucas and nothing more. The quality of the latest movies, the endless number of videogames coming out every year, the toys and so on. I do however like the idea of 3D and I would rent one and watch it (probably not even completely) just for kicks. But that is all.
