Joanna–unsubscribe options are usually in the bottom print of those emails. If you've still got one hanging out in the Trash folder, you should be able to find a link that'll take you to an unsubscribe page. We can't change your subscriptions from our end.

After I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get 4 emails with the identical comment. Is there any approach you’ll be able to remove me from that service? Thanks!

The S-Mode is by far the best since it requires only common sense; yeah not completely geeky but still interesting.
