I agree with you Mark. The new icon is really pretty ugly. I would have at least expected some brightly colored balls or something. I would help them out, but I have no graphic design skills…AT ALL.

I don't think that this is the first time. I am not sure but I kinda remember google doing something like this in the past with designing their "Google" logo on the front page for some kind of an occasion. Then again, I am not too sure.
