There are 192MB of RAM in one of my computers. Used memory for that thing is $20 for 128MB. New, it's $70. And hell, it maxes out at 384MB anyway, so yes, 300MB would be a TON for that system. Either way, even if you've got 1GB of RAM (fairly standard nowadays), do you really want a full THIRD of your memory going to ONE app?? People complain when Firefox uses over 100MB!
