Actually, a local anesthetic would help fool the polygraph. It's looking for reactions, and an anesthetic would help calm you down.

A friend told me that if you need to take a polygraph, just take 2 valium before. It'll make you all sedate.

Hell, I'd say if you're suffering from that kind of affliction, you deserve a free pass.

Jes,

Disclosure of this secret can only lead to a to local anesthesia!

What happens if you're one of those people who occasionally develops mildly irritating hemmaroids after going to the john? Isn't that going to mask the polygraph test results?

Interestingly, many of the more recent machines now supposedly monitor for that kind of manipulation (I don't think I want to know how). It did used to be a very popular technique, though, but most of the polygraph experts nowadays recommend avoiding it because of the detection measures apparently now in place.

Can you imagine being the guy who's job it is to watch for sphincter manipulation during polygraph testing? That's gotta be a rough gig.

A friend of mine used to work in a polygraph machine factory as a final product tester. He was always dismissive of polygraphs (lie detectors) primarily because of how they did testing to "prove" they worked "as specified" or "advertised". Apparently the sole test involves hooking up the system to the tester and having them "contract their anal sphincter repeatedly on command" and monitor the response on the lie detector. If the contraction and response the unit "works".

He told me you simply need to use this "contraction" to induce a strong "lie reaction" during the baseline phase to either invert, noise-up or re-inforce the reference answers and then invert or mask the real questions.

Apparently he used it successfully to manipulate his test when he getting a top secret compartmentalize clearance - he managed to convince the tester beyond "any doubt" that he had never been a priest (though he had).
