Order your Pizza Hut pizzas via your desktop

All you lazy hungry geeks who can’t be bothered to tear yourselves away from the computer, despair no longer, because Pizza Hut has come to your aid! Yes, the Hut is the latest company to jump on the Adobe AIR bandwagon with their desktop ordering widget!

But as usual with these new-fangled techie things, it seems to be for the United States only so anyone outside the US of A is out of luck and will have to resort to the old fashioned method of ordering a pizza - picking up the telephone and calling.

Gasp. I know. That’s so 20th century!

Too bad Pizza Hut pizza sucks. And I ate part of one yesterday that I ordered online. The crust has gone downhill (so has a lot of stuff with wheat, like bread. But that’s another rant), the bare minimum of cheese, and those new grilled toppings (at least the veggies) are a joke, again, the bare minimum. $30 for two pizzas is just insane.

I’ve been ordering pizza online for awhile, even when I’m not on the computer. I find it more convenient then calling. Computer addict dream, n’est pas?

Both Pizza Hut and Dominos in Australia have had online ordering for some time now.

Psh, if you’re a real geek, you’ll use Pizza Party, the command-line pizza-ordering app: http://www.beigerecords.com/cory/pizza_party/

An interesting note about online pizza ordering: if you use Domino’s online pizza ordering thing, and then you watch the Pizza Tracker, the first step says an employee has received the order. The specific employee named is “NaN”…I think we all know what that means.

Here in the Philippines McDonald’s has this feature also (no Pizza Hut I think). They suck, though. I tried doing it once and had to go to bed starving!
