You can now check out once-closely guarded files on reported UFO sightings in London for the first time.

The nation’s Ministry of Defense has just released the documents after keeping them top secret for decades. They contain data detailing strange lights in the sky and other unusual phenomenon observed by both the public and government officers. The records date from 1978 to 2002 and will be available for no charge only for the next month.

Inside the huge PDF files, you’ll find everything from newspaper clippings to stacks of police reports and odd letters, some of which are near-impossible to decipher. Many of them describe detailed contact with extraterrestrial life, like one guy who says he went on-board a spacecraft but was told he was too old for the aliens.

Whether you see this stuff as proof of life beyond earth or just crazy talk, it’s definitely an interesting archive that’s sure to stir up plenty of watercooler chatter.

See the files here.
