Ron Hubbard. He said that "to really get rich you have to create a religion", so he set out to do just that, basing his new "church" on the proven Amway pyramid scheme. His success isn't any different, really, from that of the Mormons, or the Catholics. $cientology isn't the problem. Religion is the problem. One joined up with the Sea Org and summarily disappeared, and the other was last known to be working in one of the Ohio orgs. I had the good fortune to almost immediately recognize that Co$ was only interested in my money and escaped any serious harm. I sincerely hope my friends have been able to do the same by now...
