Apple releases two new “Get a Mac” Ads
April 3, 2008 by Geeks are Sexy | 3 commentsApple just released two new Windows-bashing “Get a Mac” ads for you to enjoy. As Usual, Cupertino relies on half-truths to convince the mass that Apple computers are better systems. Oh don’t get me wrong; I do agree that Macs are better for certain things, but certainly not all of them, namely business applications and games.

Yeah, it was a little weird when one of the new commercials comes on saying that Vista doesn’t work. Cuz at the time, I had my Dell laptop open, running Vista just fine.
I’m not seeing any half-truths there. As a recent switcher, I’ve found myself far more productive under Mac OS. Granted, there’s still some Microsoft software on here. Microsoft Office:Mac 2008 is a dream come true for me, with its version of Word allowing me total control over my documentation with its layout view.
Beyond that, I’m more productive overall because I spend more time using my applications instead of “using” the OS. While a Mac vs Windows debate is inevitable after such a post, it’s really not about the OS. Operating systems should be forgettable. What matters is if the user can do what they want to do. Windows just got in my way too many times. Mac OS gives me a solid platform to run all the applications I need.
As always, these Mac ads are hilarious but I totally agree with Kiltak, some of these arguments are exaggerated.
PC hardware and software might not work as well together but that also gives it flexibility; you can always replace any broken component. Also, PC components are a lot cheaper.
Of course Vista has its flaws but XP is getting another SP soon and by the time XP becomes useless, Vista will have worked on those flaws. In any case, if you feel like your OS is giving you a headache, just install a Linux Distro ^^
