Plasma speaker looks awesome… in a dangerous way

The following videos shows 2 prototypes of FM modulated plasma arc speakers. Even if plasma speakers aren’t new in any way (they’ve been around since the late 1950′s), it doesn’t make them look any less cool. Just like regular speakers, plasma speakers work by creating compression waves in the air. Enjoy the show!

        • In no way is this correct whatsoever. Plasma is ionized gas, this may be hot, warm, or cold depending on the process and other obvious factors.

      • Well… if it actually does arc to your skin, there are three possibilities: 1.) It could just buzz over your skin and probably feel all tingly… 2.) Arc into your body and, depending on the current's strength, cause buzz/pain, stun you, or kill you… 3.) If the plasma IS heated, it could burn you.

I won't claim that my theories are definitely correct, however I imagine that, as long as you AVOID GROUNDING YOURSELF you'll be okay and the arc may even attempt to avoid you. …Just wear rubber gloves
