I find it impossible for anyone to be an all around good web designer anymore. I rarely ever find anyone who is artistic and logical in nature. I've seen people create very elegant looking websites that don't have a clue about code and then I've met people who knew the leg work required to "publish" their website that looked decent but lacked any artistic quality. I don't mean to insult people, I just feel that people should realize that finding both qualities is not always easy.

This is one 'clean-cut' tidy website.

Don't know how you people do it.

I struggle with WordPress. (Or is it just me?)

The trouble with web designers is that it's an ongoing expense if your site is constantly being updated.

I take the simple 'idiots-guide' route by using Yahoo hosting and their 'Sitebuilder' tool. What do you think? and what are the disadvantages?

The problem with the Front Page people isn't Front Page. It's that ypically that's all they know: nothing about underlying html, nothing about cgi, php, nothing about SEO, nothing about much of anything.

What if you've been playing with HTML for over half your life (like I have) and CSS for a good 7 years, but it was always on personal stuff and things got abandoned over time and now the only "portfolio" you've got is personal projects from years ago that don't show your current skills and stuff you did for relatives with bad taste who want ugly 90s-style junk with blink tags?
