A team of scientists from Canada and the United States have invented a “bionic knee” which you can wear to generate your own electricity while walking.
Studies found that walking at a little over 2 miles per hour with the device on both legs produced enough electricity to power ten mobile phones. When running, enough electricity was generated to power a light bulb.
Some expected uses for the device include being able to provide electricity to remote regions of the world, as well as to people with prosthetic limbs and pacemakers.

I heard about this on the radio a few days ago. I think it’s a great idea. Could be the end of running out of battery power on my phone, mp3 player, camera etc while on the go. I just hope it evolves from the design/testing stage to something the general public can get their hands on in the near future.
