The Simpsons….in real life!

By Mark O’Neill

I’m sure lots of you are big fans of the Simpsons and if so, then here’s something you’ll appreciate.  Someone went to a lot of time and effort to recreate the opening scene from the programme.  Judging from the look of the police officer and the background, it looks like it was shot in Great Britain.

The video is remarkably accurate, right down to Maggie blasting the car horn!

  1. Ha! Ha! True, I never realised that! :-)

You could also say they are driving on the wrong side of the road then (or the correct side depending on your point of view!)

  3. A friend of mine was in it (he plays the music teacher) and I understand it was originally commissioned by Sky TV – who have the UK rights to show new episodes – and was produced to advertise the show.

Although it was indeed shot in the UK, the brown car homer drives is actually a left-hand-drive car simply so that the driveway scene would work (as he gets out the left side and has to run from Marges car)
