Company logos throughout the years

We’ve all come to know and love our favorite brand logos. Nike, Apple, Logitech, Motorola, whatever. It’s almost like they’ve been around so long that you don’t actually recognise them as company insignia anymore, but rather as proofs of quality and authenticity.
Logos undergo drastic changes as much as their respective companies. They are changed to reflect some sort of overhaul or improvement within the corporation. If you’re like me then you’ve probably wondered what went into creating some of these memorable symbols. Who were they designed by? What do they represent? What came before the current ones?
This neat article features some intesting backstories on the featured companies and their logos. The history behind Apple and Google seem to be the most interesting. With Apple’s featuring stuff I didn’t know even after watching Pirates of Silicon Valley.

I think that the logo from 1976 is by far the sexiest logo. The middle is too flamboyant.
As you can see, from now all logo must be simple and easy to remind…
All nice logos from the great ages are now gone
Didn’t apple used to be called Apple Macintosh? It seems that people have forgotten that. That is where Apple Mac came from, then they dropped the Mac. Don’t people wonder where the name Mac came from? Or do they all know.
I love logos. It’s great how such a small thing can be so powerful.
Nope. Apple used to be called Apple Computers. The Macintosh was the computer, which is where the Mac bit in MacBook, Mac Pro etc came from.
Not all their computers were called Macintosh (Mac) as when they first started, one business unit was making the Apple Lisa (I think, if my Pirates of Silicone Valley memory serves me right) and the other, which Steve Jobs supported, was making the Apple Macintosh.
Guess which was best….
