I joined gtalk only last week. Im still exploring its features. But what i found out about it is that when you are log in to the email page, you can automatically see who's on line and you can chat with them

GTalk ID you use to send your messages on GTalk matches the one registered to your Twitter account. I don’t mean to be glib but if you have several different email addresses forwarded to your Gmail address, it’s easy to get them mixed up.

Jamie - have you added your GTalk ID to your Twitter account and switched it on? That's probably why nothing is happening.

I'm not sure however what you mean by "nothing happens". When you send a message using GTalk to Twitter, nothing happens at the GTalk end. However, your message SHOULD appear at the Twitter end almost immediately. It has worked for me and countless others for a long time.

Go to the "Phone and IM" tab in your Twitter account settings. Make sure your GTalk ID is correctly added and switched on. Maybe you've accidently misspelt something?

Also make sure that the GTalk ID you use to send your messages on GTalk matches the one registered to your Twitter account. I don't mean to be glib but if you have several different email addresses forwarded to your Gmail address, it's easy to get them mixed up.

If all else fails and you want to shut it down, just remove the GTalk ID from your Twitter "Phone and IM" settings.

I've added Twitter to Gtalk however when I send it a message nothing happens. How do you unauthorise Gtalk using twitter
