The future of display technology: Laser televisions

November 19, 2007 by Geeks are Sexy | 3 comments

Coherent, a company based in Santa Clara, California, has been working on this technology for the past 5 years. Instead of lamps, these televisions use three lasers, one for each primary color: red, blue and green. Check out the following news report for all the details.

thank god someone is coming out with technology that will rival lcds and plasmas, it doesn’t seem that OLED will make its mark for a while and by that time, these laser tvs will hopefully have made a stand as the next big thing for television

I believe this technology can be used in DLP televisions. I know they are already using LED technology which actually provides 40% more color than other plasmas and LCD’s already.
