Russia unleashes world’s most powerful vacuum bomb

September 13, 2007 by Kiltak |

Latest post Cold War development from Russia:

Ouch. This thing is called a vacuum bomb and is supposed to have the power of a nuclear weapon, without the pesky fallout side effects. With something like this, an invading nation could raze a country and move in right away to take control of the land. Apparently, this apocalypse-bringing device does not violate any international treaties like nuclear bombs do. Frightening.

Ah, nope, wrong. This is propaganda.

40 tons of TNT does not even come close to the smallest weapon in our, or the Russian nuclear arsenal.

40,000 tons of TNT, (1000 TIMES!!! larger than this device), is the number you are looking for to equal a small nuke.

1,000 tons of TNT is the bottom limit on a nuclear weapon, and that is still 25 times larger yield than this device.

This is big, but not comparable to nuclear weapons.
