Tons of problems getting printers to even work. The network printserver (a Compac Evo on GNU/Linux) is impossible to access in Vista. 40 computers run Fedora Core 6 or 7 and the HP 3550 Laser printer pops up whenever printing is invoked on them... NOT the single Vista machine, a week old purchase, that none of the Technical Staff were even consulted on!

They tried a recently purchased HP USB printer, but, there are no drivers for it, either. We suggested that the Executive send it all packing, and consult us in the future before buying high dollar consumer crap.

BTW, the new computer is an HP, that the contractor CPA insisted they needed, in an update of the 3 yo HP machine, and it's backup 5 yo machine that both run XP.

Recommending solutions, outside your area of expertise could be costly to your reputation for credibility. Contracted accountants really should consult with IT.

Vista suck$, as do idiots who recommend Vi$ta!

Windows installed this update then would not reboot. Attempting to remove the update failed due to a 'problem with windows installer'.

In other words, this update is the final solution to Vista problems.

Same here Snark. These must be the quickest updates of Windows OSs history. Go on patching I'll be waiting.

By the way, this bug sounds really awkward:

>>Files from a Canon EOD 1D or 1DS camera may be corrupted after you use Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Live Photo Gallery, or Windows Explorer to edit the file metadata in Windows Vista or in Windows XP Service Pack 2

Now here I thought that all the issues with poor quality playback of HD content, getting black screens, and having issues with drivers ... I thought all of that was a feature of their DRM bullshit, not a bug.

Huh.
