I mean, it is an easy sell to the public. One less soldier killed while the military sends out remote-controlled killing machines. I'm glad they are not fully autonomous ala (<a href='http://www.bostonaod.com/images/ed209.jpg' rel="nofollow">"You have 20 seconds to comply"</a>)...but this still does add one more layer of separation between the act of killing and humanity. But I agree, for me, a robot should have some kind of AI that gives it a bit of autonomy.. I'm sure the day where we'll see automated war bots isn't that far off though.
