Yes folks, just a few days after its release, a guy named “DVD Jon” has already cracked the iPhone activation process. Well, I would have expected someone to discover a way to do this after a few weeks, but 5-6 days? Sheeesh! It seems that the folks at Apple really need to work some more on the security of their new toy.
Hacker Jon Lech Johansen, known widely as “DVD Jon,” has cracked Apple’s iPhone activation, or so he claims, meaning that iPhone buyers will be able to activate and use the new handset without having to commit to an AT&T wireless contract. Johansen announced his feat in a blog post entitled “iPhone Independence Day.”
