Friday Afternoon Fun: $200,000 Turbine-Powered Jet Pack

June 22, 2007 by Geeks are Sexy | 5 comments

For only $200,000, this wonderful piece of fun and modern technology could be yours!

Luckily for us, Jetpack International (who has lots of experience with conventional hydrogen peroxide powered rocket packs) is working on a turbine powered jet pack with an estimated flight time of 19 minutes, with a range of 27 miles at a max altitude of 250 ft. Best news is that it runs on easily available and cheap jet fuel. (Source: OhGizmo)

Looks fun, eh?

Defintely not for thunder storms but looks like fun

Maybe in a few years (5-8) with lower costs we´ll see someone fooling around with one of these daily.

Of course there are people who can afford it “right now”, but it only requieres 1 famous actor/model/singer to start the chain reaction.

    Regards from Uruguay.

250ft, 19 minutes flying time. You would really want to keep a close eye on the clock. Easily available and cheap jet fuel? – I’ll have to see if I can run my car on it. I am writing my letter to Santa for one of these right now.

Lol, that looks awesome. I would definitely buy on if they were priced around $5,000 or less.

  5. Even if it was dirt cheap, I still wouldn’t do it. I’m afraid of heights :)
