this is kind of interesting but I don’t understand exactly why we would want this, the only way this could be useful is if it was used with a touch screen interface. I just don’t think that I use this because it is just too haphazard and even if it is a cool way to interact with things it is just too jarring of a difference to what we are used to with our traditional computer desktops.

That is pretty sweet! My only worry would be what happens if the computer lags and you’re in the process of dragging an icon somewhere, since it seems like you’d risk accidentally throwing it and knocking over a pile of other icons (or something). And what happens if you get mad at the computer, and trash your desktop? Well, I guess it’ll still be less harmful than trashing your *actual* desk top! ;)

I have seen vids of this before … doesn’t change the fact that it is uberly sweet though. It will be really interesting to see how this tech develops over the next year or so.
