Exchange Server Problems

June 13, 2007 by Geeks are Sexy | 1 comment

If you haven’t already noticed, the blog hasn’t been updated as often as usual in the last two days. The reason for this is that one of my exchange servers has gone dead, and I’m currently busy rebuilding it. For all you exchange admins out there, here’s a little bit of wisdom: ESEUtil can be your best friend or your worst enemy, depending on how you use it.

You are correct! Just had a UPS die on me — connected to the Exchange server. Apparently, the Exchange server was doing a lot of writing at the time and I ended up having many user with corrupt mail.

In this case, the ESEUTIL was my best friend. That, and ExMerge.
