Admissions of a Powerpointer:
* I never use slide transitions
* I once considered buying iWork
    - I realized that the thing that
      makes Keynote stand apart from
      Powerpoint is the special effects.
    - I never use the effects in Powerpoint
      anyway.
    - PPT files are more portable.
* I don't(yet) own a Macintosh anyway!
* I shamelessly copied this video.
* I posted it on my blog.
* <a href="http://cubicledenizen.blogspot.com/2007/06/whats-point.html" rel="nofollow">cubicledenizen.blogspot.com</a>

Oh SO true and he was going easy on 'em. This should be required viewing for every Microsoft user in the world, from cradle to grave... or at least bullet point!

So, uh, when we learned to use PowerPoint in school (ever year from 2nd through 8th grade), they should've shown this. This is be "required viewing" for all managers and employees-who-might-ever-possibly-give-a-presentation in all businesses as well. I would add that using outline format is a good thing (keeps everything organized so the listener can stay on track--great in classrooms and probably boardrooms too), but this is focusing on things to avoid, so it'd be out-of-place, and should go in a different presentation. That's another thing to avoid. Don't put unrelated things on the same slide to "save space."
