The Intruder Phone: Coming to a Galaxy Near You Soon!

----------------

While randomly browsing the Web this morning, I stumbled across this very cool, UFO-looking, concept mobile named “The Intruder”. The thing, which features a round, swiveling 220×176-pixel display, may look very nice at a first glance, but can you imagine yourself sending an SMS via that circular keypad? Don’t forget that this is a concept phone, so it will probably never see the light of day, but hey, I’m sure some people would be interested in getting one just because it looks futuristic. Anyone here think this kind of design would actually be usable?

  1. I WANT ONE! With the recent trend toward touch screens (damn you!) and flat buttons that you still have to look down to find (more damning!), one with *real buttons* gets high votes from me. Plus, it looks a hell of a lot better than my grey flip phone with grey background (with green lightups) and black text. So, since it looks neat and has real buttons, I like it. Verizon probably wouldn't have it, though, because Verizon hates phone that use the GMS (is that the right letters?) standard (grrrr stupid Verizon.

  3. The interface reminds me a little of a rotary dial phone. It's nice to see something not based on a rectangle. But I wouldn't go for it. It looks like a makeup compact.

  5. I have to applaud any gadget that tries out new design ideas even if they might seem impractical.I have seen other make-up/compact style phones though they've tended to be a bit My little pony meets Barbie-pink. Not sure about the name though.
