I'm guessing it's because a) you know it's not true and b) you thought you wouldn't possibly be caught by using MySpace. I don't blame the parents for trying to protect their child's academic future but I'm sure they know it's wrong. To a certain extent, kids will be kids, but I'm sure there are many victims of cyber bullies hoping an example is made in this case. This is a form of bullying and it shouldn't be tolerated.
